Kikki K Vision Board

What’s your vision? You may have lots of great ideas of what you would like to do and how you would like it to look but they are all in your head or in little notebooks around the house.

Many people have a vision for their life and another vision for their business. One of the great things about being a WAHM is that the two visions are often combined. For me some of the reasons why I wanted to work from home was the difficulty in getting childcare, flexibility in when I work and the ability to go for coffee, swimming lessons and gymberoo – all whilst still using my skills and helping others.

Many of the people I work with started their business for similar reasons or to fill a gap they saw in the marketplace however a few months/a year down the track they have no idea what direction they are going in.

If you are not quite ready to sit down and do a full business plan then a great way to get some focus is to create a vision board. The one pictured above is a pretty advanced version but all you really need is a piece of cardboard, a stack of old magazines, scissors, glue and some quiet time to reflect (easier said than done I know!).

Go through the magazine and look for pictures, words and quotes that represent things you would like to see in your life or business. When you are happy with what you have found cut them out and paste them onto your piece of cardboard. If you want it to last longer laminating it will stop the corners pealing up.

Lastly display your masterpiece somewhere where you will see it everyday so you have a constant reminder of why you are doing what you do.
